Türkiye has voiced strong opposition to recent Israeli military actions in southern Syria, asserting that these strikes violate Syria’s sovereignty and pose a threat to the stability of the region. According to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the attacks targeted areas in Quneitra and Daraa, infringing on Syria’s territorial integrity and contravening international law as well as the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.
The ministry expressed concerns that these actions could exacerbate humanitarian challenges, endanger civilian lives, and hinder ongoing efforts to restore stability in Syria. It emphasized the need for the international community to respond and work collaboratively to prevent further escalations that might heighten regional tensions.
Türkiye’s Communications Director, Burhanettin Duran, also criticized the strikes, underscoring their potential to compromise Syria’s security and disrupt long-term peace initiatives. He highlighted the importance of maintaining Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity as critical components for ensuring regional security.
The Turkish government reiterated its commitment to supporting Syria in preserving its territorial integrity, viewing it as essential for lasting peace in the region. Officials urged other countries to take a proactive role in preventing further military actions that could destabilize the already fragile situation.
