Amid growing tensions with Iran, former US President Donald Trump asserted his popularity in Israel, humorously suggesting he could run for Prime Minister. During a conversation with reporters, Trump praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, referring to him as a “great guy” and a “wartime prime minister,” while also expressing discontent with the treatment Netanyahu receives in Israel.

Trump confidently claimed that his approval rating in Israel was at 99%, jesting about the idea of seeking office there. “I’m right now at 99% in Israel. I could run for prime minister,” he remarked. The former president added that a recent poll had confirmed his high popularity, quipping that he might consider a political future in Israel after his current endeavors.

In his comments, Trump also criticized Israel’s leadership structure, suggesting that the president of Israel was not treating Netanyahu well. These remarks came as Israeli lawmakers considered a bill from Netanyahu’s coalition that could lead to the dissolution of parliament and possibly new elections.

Turning his attention to Iran, Trump indicated that the United States was nearing a critical juncture. He stated, “We’re in the final stages of Iran. We’ll see what happens,” implying the possibility of either reaching a deal or resorting to more aggressive measures. He assured that despite the escalating situation, he was not in a rush, emphasizing a cautious approach.

Trump also mentioned that Iran’s air force and navy were significantly weakened and cautioned that future military actions might become more challenging if no agreement is reached. While diplomatic talks between Washington and Tehran continue, the situation remains tense, with potential military implications on the horizon.
